John Emery

John Emery is a member of the brass section where he plays the trombone. He began his musical career at the age of six at an elementary school in Akron Ohio.

At age nine he joined a group called the Bantam Band playing with them until his entry into high school. During his junior year he organized a small dance band and played at a local teen dance club. In his senior year he joined the University of Akron Symphony Orchestra well as playing in a local Grotto band.

He chose to attend the University of Akron where he participated in the university band until his graduation in June of 1960. He partcipated in the Seventy Six Trombone Choir and presently plays in a group at church during Sunday morning services, and of course in the Suncoast Symphony Orchestra.

John and his wife, Amy, have been married for twenty one years. They have four grown daughters, who are all married, two in North Carolina, one in Tampa and one in Clearwater. John is a senior business analyst at Honeywell where he has been for thirty six years.
